Punta de Fabian

Located in Baras, Rizal, Punta de Fabian boasts of its wonderful view of Laguna de Bay.

After weeks of debating where to go and what activities we can do on our team building, we have settled to go to Punta de Fabian over Caliraya and other resorts. The place was a 90 minute drive from Manila and we hired an FX to take us to the resort. There are seven of us and the FX rental from Manila to Tanay costs 850php.

This is the proposal that Tracy (Sales executive at Punta) sent us:

Punta de Fabian has meeting spaces that can be used for team building activities, seminars or conferences.

The view was good. But the pool was a bit murky. I had bumps when I took a bath after swimming and some of my team mates who have sensitive skin developed rashes and bumps too that were itchy. I actually didnt see anyone cleaning the pool the whole time that we were there. For establishments like this, I would expect them to clean the pool at least twice a day.
Punta de Fabian boasts of it's viewing decks that are apt for romantic dinners.
Our accommodation at Punta de Fabian includes set meals. For lunch we had Liempo and Fried Talong with Ensaladang Mangga and Bagoong for sides. Dinner is Pasta with Beef Stroganoff and fried vegetables. I did not take the picture of the tapa which was our breakfast the next morning because it was too salty for my taste, haha. But the first two meals that they cooked deserves a round of applause. The liempo was a little tender, the green mango and bagoong are one of my favorite snacks so no need to rate that. The Stroganoff was creamy but it was good.
This is where we stayed at. The loft room has three twin-size beds and two mattresses.
Outside the room is a small area with low tables and benches that are good for drinking sessions (though we opted to drink beside the pool) and playing card games. It is also good if you just want to lay down your towels and wet clothes to dry.

There is also a videoke area but it will cost 200php per hour.
There is also a maze outside which we werent able to visit because we didnt know about it until its about time for us to go home.
There is also a playpen and a basketball court behind the cafe.

Cost: 3/5

The place is pretty expensive. I wouldn't recommend it to those who will be traveling on a budget. Besides I didnt really feel anything special about the place. Undoubtedly, the place is pretty, boasts of a good view and has friendly staff. If you find the view worth it, then 1800php a night is your price.

Comfortability: 5/5

The room we stayed in is clean and really spacious. It has a cable TV and includes complimentary water and coffee. There are also complimentary bottles of shampoo and conditioner. What I have liked about the room is the comfort room which was spotless when we first came in.

Amenities: 3.5/5

Punta de Fabian has a function room, viewing deck, a restaurant (expect higher prices on their items of course. A half pack of cigarettes cost 30php and an extra cup of rice at 25php) It also has a basketball court at the back of the restaurant, complimentary wifi and a viewing deck. There's also a maze behind the videoke area. The videoke costs 200php per hour by the way. The infinity pool is dirty by the way, when we went there so you might want to try the kiddie pool with the jacuzzi.

Crew: 4/5

The staff are friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The chef cooks good food. The best thing is that our check-in time is supposed to be at 2 pm but they allowed us to check in at 11 am. Moreover, and I think that this is a practice not done by other establishments, they welcomed us with free drinks, which is certainly a plus.
